Voting Period: July 18 - August 8, 2025
Who Can Vote: Voting is free but the public must register to vote within 10 miles of the Chetek Lakes Area during the contest dates. Must by 16+
How to Vote:
Mobile registration and voting available by scanning the QR codes that will be available next to each work of art, located in the program, and posted at every venue.
Paper ballots will only be available the night of Aug 8th during the Chetek wine walk.
Voting Rules: One vote per piece, vote for as many pieces as you like. We encourage voters to experience as many of the works of art as possible, and vote for what moves you.
How are Winners Determined?:
Winners are determined by number of public votes received. The Grand Prize winner has received the most votes overall, the second-place winner has received the second most votes, and so on.
The venue that hosts the grand prize winner will also be awarded prize money.
Winners will be announced in person at the Awards Ceremony on Aug 10, 2025, then via email no later than Aug 11, 2025.

What's Involved?
Display Art: Showcase selected artwork within your establishment for the length of the competition.
Coordinate with Artist: Identify an artist ahead of time and register together or connect with an artist matched by CPAL to coordinate installation.
Provide Space: Ensure artwork is displayed safely and securely (artists are required to carry their own insurance and sign a liability waiver)
Promote Event: Encourage customers to view the art and participate in voting.
Venue Registration Fee: $75

The venue hosting the grand prize winner receives a prize ($75 - $150).

Main Contest Rules
Artwork must be displayed in a registered contest venue.
Only original work is eligible. Work created from kits or patterns is not allowed.
ALL AI (artificial intelligence) usage must be disclosed upon entry and use of AI will be included on the Artist Statement sheet for voter review. This includes Photoshop generative fill and/or using any AI imagegeneration whether for reference inspiration or as part of the actual final work. If AI was used and not disclosed, the artist will be automatically disqualified.
Artists are responsible for transportation, installation, insurance/liability, and removal of their entry.• Artwork may be listed for sale; a 15% commission fee applies for sales between July 1 and August 30, 2025.
Entries sold during the contest dates will only be available for removal at the close of the contest.
CPAL reserves the right to use all information on imagery and documentation of the artist pertaining to the entry provided by the artist for press releases, promotional materials, displays and exhibits associated with events which may include textual, audio, or visual representation.
General Conditions: Awards are made in the form of lump sum cash payouts, reported to the IRS. Tax liabilities (federal, state, and local taxes) are the sole responsibility of the winners. By acceptance of the prize, the winner agrees without limitation to the use of his/her name, photograph and/or likeness for publicity purposes without any additional compensation. Artist agrees to be bound by these rules and the decisions of CPAL, which are final and binding in all matters regarding this event. Artists and Venues agree that the event and its representatives, affiliates, agents, directors, officers, and employees have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind relating to or arising from this event or resulting from participation in this event.

The Beauty Beyond Our Shores Art Competition is more than just a contest! It's a celebration of art, community, and connection. Artists display their work in local businesses, turning them into pop-up galleries. The public votes for their favorites, creating a buzz and bringing art lovers to the Chetek Lakes Area.

• Securing a Venue: Artists are encouraged to identify a business in town to host their art and work together in the process. Any artists that do not secure a venue on their own will be matched with a participating venue by CPAL.
