CPAL is hosting its second annual art competition from June 12 - August 14, 2026, in Chetek and Cameron. Regional artists will submit artworks to be displayed in local businesses, which will serve as pop-up art galleries. Winners are determined by public vote, attracting new patrons to the community and fostering connections through art appreciation.
What is a Venue?
A venue is a local business in Chetek or Cameron that serves as a gallery to display an artists' work during the Beauty Beyond Our Shores Event. Art should be accessible for viewing at the various venues at least 4 days a week. Some art may be visible outside or from windows during off hours.

Increased Foot Traffic: Attract diverse audiences and amplify foot traffic to your establishment.
Enhanced Exposure: Venue information is printed in our annual souvenir program and listed on our website. At times there will also be segments on TV and radio and in the newspaper that may feature venue information. Advertising in our annual souvenir program is included as part of your venue fee.
Community Engagement: Support local and regional artists and enhance community relationships.
Positive Image: Contribute to the bourgeoning arts scene and make a lasting impact.
Win Prize Money: The venue hosting the winning art piece will also win $75 - $150 (depending on number of entrants).
Venue Responsibilities
Display Art: Showcase selected artwork within your establishment for the length of the competition.
Coordinate with Artist: Identify an artist ahead of time and register together or connect with an artist matched by CPAL to coordinate installation.
Provide Space: Ensure artwork is displayed safely and securely (artists are required to carry their own insurance and sign a liability waiver)
Promote Event: Encourage customers to view the art and participate in voting. Host an artist reception in collaboration with your artist.
